A poignant holiday quote for all:

“Grandfather of all Scouts…Teach me to be the eyes of my people. Teach me to move like the shadow. Allow me to become the winds, the rocks, the soils, and the life forces in all its forms. Allow me to suffer for my people and take away their pain.
Honor me by allowing me to die for my people. For I love my people beyond myself and I will sacrifice my all for my people, my earth, and for you. Test me beyond all hardship and pain. Create me as you would forge a tool, and if you find I am worthy, then bless me as your servant – your Scout.”

I've misplaced my sheet, so I'm doing this from memory:

Primo: Used 25 lbs for the overhead, had little trouble there. Squats were OK, but I think I might've been a bit low. I need to wear less baggy shorts next time. Was only able to actually hold the push-up for the first round. After that it was all massively fucked up. Might've been able to focus through round two if it weren't for all the screaming. Pullups were a joke. I'd get up and fall right back down. Was able to manage a slow fall for round one, but no such luck after all.

Secondo: 15 lbs ball. DNC. Only managed about 260 reps before I gave up. Yay, anger.

First:

Used 25lbs for the overheads. For some reason I am unable to fully lock out my arms... perhaps because my shoulders are so massively thick and huge! (insert joke here.)
Squats weren't too terrible - held for most of each round.
Push Up was my best one
Chin Up was decent for the 1st round then declined drastically from there. Maybe held for 10 seconds max at a time after that.

Then:

When I got to 200 wall balls at 20lbs I had already psyched myself out and told myself I wouldn't go past 250 but then I sucked it up a bit more, inspired by those around me who were way ahead of me and made my goal 300. After 300 I was a happy cheerleader for the rest of the group.

This was a battle I was happy I lost. I can walk today and am pumped for MAN NIGHT!!!

Much love to all and especially to Steve and Justin who have played an integral part in the further development of my physical and mental toughness this past year. I love this Madness and wish it and you all a very merry xmas (and all other celebrations) and a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Lets kick more ass in 2010!!!

1ere: static holds are hard. pushup and pullup holds were the worst.

2eme: i hate wallballs, but not nearly as much now that i've been squatting a lot more lately. these weren't as bad as i thought and for once i felt slightly proud of myself. i never had that moment where i thought i'd quit. :)

I miss you guys. I start training again in the new year. I will have the same schedule so I don't know if I will be able to go to Madness but you will see me torturing myself in the gym in the afternoons. No longer going to let lack of sleep be my excuse for getting tubby. So if you see me, scream, "Move your ass!" at me. I promise I will appreciate it. Have a happy holiday.

TOTAL FOCUS AND DEDICATION

* 15 pounds overhead
* The squats? piece of cake.
* Push up position was more like a plank, I mean I am aware that I was winging it. I still did my best.
* Pull up position, my hands were hurting. I need to bring my gloves.. I am a pussy .... I could not do it. My hands hurt

The wall balls, well I did not cheat, focused on my form and had a system. I guess I could have done it faster, but I would have not done it as proper.

I threw up after. My breathing is bad when doing exercises... I need to focus on that too...

See you guys next year !
