midnightmadness#9

Psychology is an aspect of the battle often neglected
Not here
Everybody wanted to stop and nobody did
A new vocabulary is developed
We become wise in the moment of loss
Greatness is reached
And time stands still at the height of it....

Ed's the mad man for finishing the OMFU.

The OMFU = Ow. I can't lift my arms past shoulder level for 3 days. It is also going to haunt me because I know myself well enough to realize that every time I do KB swings, I will say to myself, "Self, you did 250 last time, now do it again." I am a little OCD that way.
I bought a new pair of dress pants for work two weeks ago and now they are too big on me. This getting in shape thing is turning out to be expensive from a clothing perspective. I am also starting to see my abs without having to suck in my stomach and flex them. Hello old friends, it has been too long.
On a less than cool note, it is a very strong possibility that I will miss Midnight Madness this Thursday for the first time. I have come down with what I thought was the flu, but turned out to be a case of bronchitis. I am starting to feel better but I am unsure if my lung could take the beating so soon. Hopefully the apothecary’s drugs are quick and I will be back in form for the class, but honestly it is not likely. My illness has kept me from the gym since the last evolution and I can only equate my desire to get back there to that of a caged animal who longs for the wild.

Last night was brutal. First time I think I was mere seconds away from vomiting and I had a serious headache after the second rotation of deadlifts/flying burpees.
Justin you are a sick man.
Speaking of sick, I think we were all ailing from something last night and we still managed to complete the evolution. Kudos to first timer Collin for putting up with Justin and us and for completing his first evolution.
JT and Kendra are machines, Jessica can show us a thing or two about perfect form and Solange is the consummate professional. We had a great group last night.

77 overhead squats at 65lbs - 10 - 12 min.

225lbs and 10 flying burpees (6 rounds) - 15 or 19 min.

50 squats, pushups, situps, wall balls, ball slams, box jumps, pullups - under 30 min.

I am already sore and can't wait to be immobile tomorrow. Thanks again Justin and have a great weekend everyone! See you next week!
